The area available for each addition was very small, yet it had to carry an elevator, circulation, and an emergency stair to every floor.

Solution

Planned each annex as a compact vertical core, with the elevator and emergency stair sharing one tightly organized footprint and landings that meet the existing floors. A small addition delivers full access and a safe escape route.
